Associate Database Engineer

Responsibilities

Position will support all aspects of database design efforts, including the complete requirements analysis, design, development, testing of database applications. Provide technical input for database design, maintenance, and administration. Participate in the development of standards, procedures, and conventions for database use.  Position will contribute to the methods developed for file organization, parsing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.

Qualifications

BSCE or equivalent required. Experience with both commercial automotive and military design considerations for diagnostic data storage and display strongly preferred. Experience with portal technologies preferred.  Experience with supporting the development of standards, procedures, and conventions for database use preferred.  Experience in managing data from vehicle tracking solutions to include GPS, wireless communications (802.11, Cellular, satellite), vehicle networks (CAN, J1708, SCI, J1850, etc), networking communications (RS232, RS422, RS485), and sensors (Analog, digital) is strongly preferred. Ability to work as a self-starter with minimal supervision.  Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.  3 years of experience with database design, maintenance, and administration.  MS SQL Server required.  Coldfusion, Java, and PERL preferred.  Ability to work cooperatively with others and to work under pressure of deadlines and customer requirements required.  Ability to travel by air and/or motor vehicle as needed required.
